Dreams

I haven't updated in a while because I haven't been taking my medicine which means I haven't been getting REM sleep which means I haven't been dreaming.

Soooo instead of posting a new dream I will tell you about how I learned to lucid dream.

I still don't have 100% control 100% of the time. Also, a lot of times it's just more interesting to let dreams happen naturally so I don't have much incentive to gain complete control. But, about 90% of the time, if things get boring or stressful, I can change it without difficulty.

So my stepmom is a psychopath and let me watch Jurassic Park at the tender age of 7. I still have an irrational fear of raptors. It is mainly irrational because they don't exist, but GOD IF THEY DID.

The scene where they are opening the doors to the computer lab still makes me pee a little.

OK so for a long time I had nightmares about raptors chasing me through the jungle. Its was always the same dream and it always scared the shit out of me.

Well, I grew and still had those nightmares. Then, when I was about 13, I was watching an episode of Blues Clues with my cousin. Well, Blue hopped into some other character's nightmare about a haunted house and basically the guy in the green striped shirt (Steve?) said "Well it's your dream, you can change it!" and little by little they changed the haunted house into a gingerbread house.

Well, of course, that night I had the nightmare. I wasn't able to change anything, but I was mildly aware it was a dream. Basically over the next few weeks I became more and more aware of the fact I was dreaming, until I eventually became completely aware. Then, little by little, I was able to change things in my dream. First, I made them slower. Then, I made them dumber. Eventually, I made those damn raptors tap dance. After a while, the ability just kind of spilled over into all of my boring/scary dreams.

There are other sites that are far more professional that will let you know how to lucid dream, but my suggestion is that if you have a recurring dream, use that to your advantage because de ja vu is a far better trigger than light or noise.

Dreams

Another weird ass dream last night.

My mom and dad owned a farm, but the only thing they raised were lions.

I had a dream about my parents owning a fucking lion farm.

The inevitable ensued, and I was eventually attacked by one lion. My dog, Lou, saved me.

Another dream I had last night involved me being a deer and doing very deerish things. Including buying custom made halloween costumes while eating pizza. As a deer.

My head isn't on right.

Dreams

I have weird dreams.

Like, really weird dreams.

They are extremely vivid and are in no way related to real life or my subconcious (despite what freud may think.) If I am wrong and there is a total correlation between the two, then dear sweet jesus I must be fucked up beyond repair.

For example, one night a few weeks ago I had a dream that some of my younger co-workers were throwing a party in celebration of their high school commencement. It started raining and a couple of girls thought it would be fun to go outside and play in it. The rain then turned into hail and killed them both.

So this is going to be my public dream journal.

I suppose I'll start off with a dream that really freaked me out.

So I was driving to Jeff State and got lost along the way. I was driving through the woods and saw a house that looked familiar. I saw the name on the mailbox and realized it was a friend's house. I got out of my car and she ran outside to greet me. She told me that she was having a huge party and  that I should come in and have a few beers. The party itself was just a blur of faces. I don't remember much about it, other than the constant, nagging feeling of needing to hurry up and get to my class. I decided to leave and was in my car, backing out of the driveway, when I hit a bump. I went outside to see what it was and it turned out to be her dog. It's skull was crushed and blood was everywhere. Despite the fact that this animal should be dead, it continued barking at me. My friend came outside to see what the commotion was, saw what happened, then started yelling at me. As she yelled, she distroted. Changed her color and shape and became something only mildly humanoid. She blurred around the edges and became a demon. I got in my car and drove away with her still shifting and yelling.

Again, I became lost, but it was so late and I had no clue how to get back to my starting point, so I decided to stop for the night. I came across a building that looked like a mixture between a motel and a bed & breakfast. I stopped for the night. The building was white with red trimming. There were red neon lights advertising vacancy within, plus the red trimming of the house shimmered like hot coals. I remember thinking it looked like a modern day entrance to hell.

The moment I stepped on the stoop outside the hotel, I was transported to the balcony directly above it. I walked through the glass doors which led to a sitting room that had obviously not been used in quite some time. There was a flight of stairs to my right and I heard whispering voices coming from them. They drew me in and I was tempted to walk down them. A louder, firmer voice called from downstairs. A woman's voice said,

"Hey! Don't walk down the stairs! Go outside, onto the balcony and climb in throught the window directly below!"

I did as I was told.

The woman greeted me and told me I could stay the night. I asked her what was in the stairwell that she wanted me to avoid. What was whispering.

She left me for a moment and returned with a toddler. A toddler covered in black scales with bright red eyes.

She told me that this was her son. How he was tempted by demons who lived in the stairwells and whisper to people. How he was cursed by them. The entire time this story was being told, the child was changing. Every time I took my eyes off of him, he wouldn't be the same when I looked back. One moment he was a baby, still covered in black scales, still red eyed, but with a head too large for its body. The next moment he would be about twelve, with a head too small. Another, he would be a toddler again.

Then I woke up.
